Online Lessons Program
Weekly lessons for Guitar, Ukulele, Piano & Voice

(AGES SIX AND UP)
Overview

Learn the basics of getting stated with our 5 week beginning classes held online, as our instructors teach how to get the best start on the instrument of your choice. Beginners work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. Each lesson will challenge you with a new technique or music theory, and always ends with something fun – such as your favorite riff or song.
Throughout the course our online instructors will also be available to schedule one on one digital lessons to check in on your progress, make sure you are on the right track, and answer any questions you have about your instrument and progress.

After you complete the 5 week beginners course your instructor will continue to be available to meet with you weekly for one on one lessons (either in-person or digitally) and completely customize lessons based on your preferences while you continue.

What will I learn from online lessons at San Diego School of Music?

Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight and rhythm reading along with theory. Our instructors balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson presents a new technical challenges or theory concept, and ends with something fun, such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of methods and build in multiple levels to each lesson plan so every student can challenge themselves and progress according to their skill level. We also encourage students to make song suggestions to learn their favorite tunes.
Do I need to purchase an instrument to join group lessons?

San Diego School of Music provides acoustic guitars, ukuleles, and electric keyboards for online lessons (supply limited) which you can use when getting started for FREE. Instrument Loaners are available for pick up or home delivery at no charge. After your 2nd month you may continue to rent your instrument for $22.50 per month. We also offer a variety of instruments for purchase that are appropriate for beginners, starting at just $89.00.

How young can my student start to take lessons?

We have students join our programs as young as 6 years old if a parent believes their student can focus and pay attention through the lesson. Since each lesson has multiple level options built in students can progress at their own pace without feeling discouraged or left behind. If we become aware that it just isn't the right fit yet for your child we will make other arrangements with you and discuss what other options might be a good fit.
