(AGES SIX AND UP)
Our group instructors teach rock, blues, metal, country and classical styles in guitar, piano and drum group lessons. Beginners work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight and rhythm reading along with theory. Each lesson will challenge you with a new technique or music theory, and ends with something fun – such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of method books based on student needs and preferences, and encourage students to bring song suggestions to their lessons to learn their favorite tunes.
What’s the #1 reason to participate in group lessons at San Diego School of Music?
Our group instructors are warm and friendly, and get to know each student and parent on a personal level. We work with you to craft a lesson plan that fits each class as well as your individual needs, and explores the student's favorite type of music. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight and rhythm reading along with theory. Our instructors balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson presents a new technical challenges or theory concept, and ends with something fun, such as your favorite riff or song. How young can my student start to take lessons?
